January 13, 2016 – 1 to 5 p.m. Mixer: 6 to 9 p.m.
The Lake County Medical Cannabis Seminar is designed to bring together public officials, medical cannabis patients, growers and businesses, and members of the general public.
To help inform Lake County residents about important changes in state law.
To facilitate discussion about local ordinances and possible changes.
To help clarify the new rules for personal use and licensed, commercial activities.
To provide networking and fellowship opportunities in a fun and friendly place.

Hezekiah Allen – California Growers Association
Hezekiah Allen is executive director of the California Growers Association, which gave vital input from North Coast cannabis farmers when the new Medical Marijuana Regulation and Safety Act was being drafted in Sacramento.
Michael Green – Fresno Cannabis Association
Michael Green is the president of the Fresno Cannabis Association. He recently started a consulting firm in Lake County but continues to represent Fresno-area interests.
Paul Smith – Rural Counties (RCRC)
Paul Smith is the senior legislative advocate for Rural County Representatives of California. Paul will provide a presentation on the new Medical Marijuana Regulation and Safety Act. 1:10 – 1:40
Trey Sherrell – Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board
Trey Sherrell is an environmental scientist for the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board. Trey will provide an overview of new water board rules for cultivation. 1:45 – 2:00 (table)
Tim Morland/Joey Ruiz – California Board of Equalization (BOE)
Tim Morland is the legislative director for Fiona Ma, who represents Lake County on the California Board of Equalization. Joey Ruiz is a former Clearlake City Council member who now works as a consultant for Ms. Ma. (table) 2:00 – 2:15

Humboldt: Allison Edrington is editor of The Ganjier and follows Humboldt cannabis issues.
Mendocino: Julia Carrera is a neutral third-party diversified medical cannabis farm inspector who also represents the Small Farmers Association. (table) Casey O’Neill is a cannabis farmer and co-founder of the California Growers Association (table).
Sonoma: Tawnie Logan is Executive Director of the Sonoma County Growers Alliance.

Challenges and Opportunities – Lake County’s Future is Growing
Jason Jones, D&M Compassion Center; Liz Byrd, Lakeside Herbal Solutions (tentative); need to add more local cultivators, if possible. Eco-tourism? Manufacturing? Deliveries? Farmers markets? Anthony Farrington is a Lakeport attorney and the chair of the Lake County Board of Supervisors. He’ll provide an overview of past and current ordinances affecting medical cannabis patients and businesses in Lake County, along with some changes that he plans to introduce. 4:00 – 4:15

We’ll talk about the new regulations and gauge interest in forming a Lake County chapter of the California Growers Assoc.
